I started watching because Emmy Rossum is both a talented actress and ridiculously attractive. I continued to watch because the family was and is a complete horrific disaster. The writing and dialog are very good. Even when the show goes beyond your ability to suspend disbelief, it's okay the characters are still compelling enough to make you want to enjoy their company.
